ミゾゴイとズグロミゾゴイ!!
昨年の春は石垣島、その前は、2018年春に沖縄本島の糸満市、2018年秋の南城市でそれぞれ見つけながらも撮影できていなかったミゾゴイがやっと撮れました。私の師匠でもある石垣島BIRD観察さんに教えていただきました。
午前中に連絡をもらったのですが、現地に行けたのは夕方。警戒心はそれなりに強いようなので難しいかなと期待せずに行ったらいました。ミゾゴイ。石垣島にはたくさん生息するズグロミゾゴイとは似て非なる鳥影が双眼鏡に飛び込んできた時は、かなり感動。しかもミゾゴイはカラスを警戒していてこちらに注目をしていません。車を近くに寄せて、手前まで出てくるのを待機。しばらくすると地面の獲物を探しながら開けた場所へ出てきました。
ミゾゴイは、かなり気が強いようでカラスやズグロミゾゴイが近くに来ると威嚇して追い払っていました。
沖縄のミゾゴイは春と秋の渡りの季節に立ち寄るだけなので、この個体もすぐに抜けてしまうでしょう。

In the evening the Ryukyu Kingfisher seemed to be moving around actively; I came across many individuals along forest roads and in parks.
Sharp-tailed Sandpiper in breeding plumage. It caught a small earthworm-like prey item.
A new group of four Sharp-tailed Sandpipers has arrived.
