First Pin-tailed Snipe of the season!!

A Swinhoe's Snipe together with the Pin-tailed Snipe above. Common Snipe have already turned up here and there, so that makes three snipe species together. ^^

This one is a Pin-tailed Snipe. It was a little too close, and after this it hid itself in the grass.

Common Greenshank numbers are increasing too.

Black-winged Stilts confirmed in flocks of 100 or more at peak.

Pacific Golden Plover seen in rice paddies, along the coast, and in pastures.

The Eurasian Spoonbill has been wandering around the island for a little while now.

When searching for snipe, I often come across Yellow Bitterns.

There were also Chinese Pond Herons beginning to transition into breeding plumage.

The Black-winged Kite turns up in the rice paddies without fail every evening. It gets in the way when you're watching snipe… ^^;
