暗色型サシバ、カンムリワシ幼鳥、ハヤブサ幼鳥、チョウゲンボウ
今年で4年連続越冬中の暗色型サシバ(通称ブラックサシバ)を久しぶりに見てきました。例年通りなら、あと2カ月程度は滞在すると思われます。
カンムリワシの幼鳥も出会う機会が増えてきました。幼鳥はいい縄張りが確保できず、獲物の少ない冬に衰弱して保護されるケースが多いです。
冬の石垣島にはハヤブサやチョウゲンボウのほかにもチュウヒやハイタカ、オオタカなどが逗留中です。
The dark-morph Gray-faced Buzzard, now in its fourth year. No matter how many times I see a dark morph, it looks magnificent.
The Gray-faced Buzzard's front-facing expression is adorable. ^^
Crested Serpent Eagle juvenile. It didn't seem to be catching much prey.
Common Kestrel, male, first-winter plumage.
Peregrine Falcon juvenile. It was at the Black-winged Kite nesting site near my home. The Black-winged Kites that should have been breeding were nowhere to be seen.
