今季3羽目のカンムリワシ幼鳥
今季3羽目となるカンムリワシ幼鳥です。これからどんどん数を増やしていきます。石垣島では2期米の刈り取りが10月下旬から始まりますが、そのころは稲刈りの田んぼから飛び出すネズミやカエルなどを狩る姿を見られることでしょう。
ツメナガセキレイはマミジロツメナガセキレイばかりでまだ(キマユ)ツメナガセキレイは確認できていません。例年と比べると少し遅いように感じます。
シマアカモズは越冬組が島中に増えてきています。もうしばらくするとタカサゴモズも飛来します。昨年は多くのタカサゴモズが確認されたので、今年も期待したいですね。^^

Something seemed to startle it and it raised its crest.
The juvenile had come out to the forest edge but was keeping an eye on a parent calling overhead. Its crop was puffed up tight, so it seems to be eating well.

Brown Shrike, first-winter plumage. It appeared to be watching for prey from the top of a cycad.
