キガシラセキレイ5羽!!
ツメナガセキレイの大群の中にキガシラセキレイが少なくとも5羽。あまりに数が多く、群れがとなりあった田んぼ2枚に分かれてしまっているので、鳥友と手分けして確認しました。その結果、友人が3羽、私が2羽撮影できました。
全て第1回冬羽なのですが、ちょっと違和感があります。今まで見てきたキガシラセキレイの第1回冬羽はもっと抜けた灰色で今回はわずかながら褐色が入っているような気がします。
キガシラセキレイの亜種は世界に2亜種(もしくは3亜種)おり、いつものキガシラセキレイより西に分布する亜種がこれに近いそうです。
Yellow Wagtail, first-winter. One slightly olive-tinged feather is showing on the shoulder.
Same individual as above. Watching from behind, several olive-tinged feathers are visible. The uppertail coverts and undertail coverts at the base of the tail are also faintly olive-tinged.
A different Yellow Wagtail, also first-winter. The uppertail coverts and undertail coverts on this one show no colour.
Same individual as above. Seen from the front, juvenile feathers remain on the breast.
