小雪の珍事 グラウンドにソリハシセイタカシギ3羽
今日は、二十四節気の一つ小雪。本土では寒さが増して雪がちらついたところもあるようですが、沖縄は、半袖で過ごせる一日でした。
そんな中、グラウンドの芝生にソリハシセイタカシギが3羽舞い降りて餌探しに勤しんでいました。 先日、三角池で見つけた3羽 を最近見なくなっていましたが、こんなところに移動していたとは…。ソリハシセイタカシギがグラウンドにいるなんて、小雪の珍事でしょうか。^^
3羽のソリハシセイタカシギは、大雨で水浸しになった土の中から逃げ出してきたミミズを捕まえているようでした。
ほかには、チュウダイサギやアカアシシギ、コアオアシシギ、ムナグロ、シロチドリなども獲物を求めて芝生に集まっていました。

I was shooting through the fence, but at the closest point it came to about 10 metres away.

Occasionally it opened its bill wide. It looked almost like it was retching.

As I sat still, it kept edging closer and closer.

You don't often get to see a Pied Avocet on a lawn outside of the breeding grounds, so I found myself hammering the shutter like there was no tomorrow… ^^;
