Black-winged Kite Hunting
In the evening I tried for a Black-winged Kite for the first time in a while. I parked in the shade of a tree where I had a view of the bird's favourite hunting ground and waited in the car. An adult appeared around 6 p.m. It made several hunting attempts but didn't appear to catch anything.

The primary moult is clearly visible.
There aren't many spots on Ishigaki Island where Black-winged Kites fly this close and at this height.
It crossed right in front of me, completely unhurried.
A Black-winged Kite at the moment it changed direction. What a stunning bird.
It was hovering, searching for prey.
