オオクイナ保護
帰宅途中、自宅近くで車に衝突したと思われるオオクイナを路上で保護。自宅に連れて帰り、一晩、段ボール箱の中で様子を見ました。
翌日には瞳孔の光への反応もしっかりし、骨折もないようなので準ソフトリリース方式で放鳥しました。しっかりした足取りで森の中へ消えて行きました。
Slaty-breasted Rail, male. I placed a cardboard box on the ground with the flap slightly open, and after a while it came out, looking around warily.
The Slaty-breasted Rail was quite sensitive to the presence of crows, but this individual seemed little bothered by humans.
When I crouched down and watched quietly, it kept walking closer and closer to me. In the end it passed right between my legs and went back into the forest. What on earth was that about?
