天の川を見ながらヤンバルクイナ幼鳥と成鳥
きょうは、二十四節気の一つ大暑でした。沖縄は、太平洋高気圧に覆われており真夏日が続いています。雲ひとつない夜空には、毎晩、満天の星が広がっています。
毎回、やんばるに行ったら星の写真でも撮ろうかと広角レンズを持って行くのですが、鳥探しに疲れて実行に移せていませんでしたが、今夜は、意を決して数枚撮影してきました。^^; 先週からやんばる入りしている写真家の方は、素晴らしいロケーションで天の川を写し取っていました。昼間、ロケハンしないといいのは撮れないですね…。
きょうは、ヤンバルクイナを数羽確認しました。今年生まれた幼鳥も1羽いました。全くいない日もあれば、たくさん見る日もある。何が影響しているのかは分かりません。
本当は、昼間の写真を撮りたいのですが、前を横切るだけでじっとしてくれないので、久しぶりに夜のヤンバルクイナを写しました。

From a slightly different angle. The Okinawa Rail was calm, so I pointed it out to a family of tourists who were wandering around nearby. They managed to get some shots with a compact camera too. ^^
A juvenile Okinawa Rail. The colour of the eyes and feet is duller compared to an adult.
After photographing the juvenile Okinawa Rail, I was on my way to a spot for Ryukyu Scops Owl when I ran into a photographer who had come up to Yanbaru, on a pitch-dark forest road. I passed on the Okinawa Rail information to them too. ^^
After finishing with the Okinawa Rail, I happened to look up at the southern sky and the Milky Way was clearly visible. Modern cameras are impressive — they captured far more stars than the naked eye could see. ^^;
