やっと撮れたトラフズク
正月にカメラを持たずに見つけ、その後も何度か見ているのですが、写真におさえる機会がなかった越冬トラフズクをやっと写真に収めることができました。
沖縄県内では 3年前に金武で見つけて 以来の出会いでした。沖縄本島の個体は毎年、越冬のため渡ってきています。石垣島のトラフズクも来年、再来年と来てくれるといいですね。

This is what it looked like when I first found the Long-eared Owl — it was far off.
A Long-eared Owl that had come down to the ground. I couldn't get a shot, but a Short-eared Owl was also in the same area.
In the rain it was looking around, searching for prey. A mouse, or a frog?
The Long-eared Owl is one of the largest owls found in Okinawa, but this here is the smallest — the Ryukyu Scops Owl.
