アカショウビン、ブッポウソウ、カンムリワシ幼鳥、アカハラダカ

石垣島のアカショウビンはほとんど越冬地に渡ってしまったのですが、今年生まれの幼鳥は,、まだ少数が残っています。

ハイイロオウチュウの情報をもらい北部に出向きましたが、残念ながら見られず。ブッポウソウはあちこちの電線で確認できました。

カンムリワシの幼鳥は9月の中旬を過ぎると多く確認できるようになりました。

アカハラダカは600以上が通過。今後、ピークを迎えます。

Ruddy Kingfisher

Most of the ones still around are juveniles. A juvenile Ruddy Kingfisher in the process of moulting from juvenile plumage into first-winter plumage.

Oriental Dollarbird

Oriental Dollarbirds have been appearing in unusually high numbers this season. This one is a juvenile, but close to ten individuals — adults and juveniles combined — have been recorded. The Oriental Dollarbird is often cited as one of the rare wildlife conservation success stories, and that may be one contributing factor.
