アオバズク6巣目を発見
公園を歩いていると私の背より低いところにいい感じの樹洞がありました。「こんな人通りの多いところでまさかねー」と樹洞をのぞいてみるとアオバズクが飛び出しました。全く予想もしていなかったので腰を抜かした。^^;
親鳥がいなくなった巣穴をもう一度見てみると白い卵が4個あった。念のため親鳥が戻るのを物陰から見守っていると15分後ぐらいしたところで戻ってきました。一安心です。家から近い公園なので巣立ちはぜひ確認したいですね。
現在、アオバズクの営巣はきょうのを含めて6巣を観察中。
6月22日追記
梅雨の終わりがけに連日続いた大雨により、巣が浸水し営巣放棄となりました。来年に期待。
The female that had flown out from the nest returned safely and resumed incubation. A relief.
I was shooting from behind cover, and in moments like this the "soft continuous shooting" mode that quiets the shutter sound came in handy. The Brown Hawk-Owl noticed nothing of my presence and went straight into the nest. ^^

This is a Brown Hawk-Owl photographed at a different location four days ago. Incubation has already begun.
Nearby I found a Oriental Turtle Dove that had fledged some time ago.
