ツミ、巣作り中と抱卵中

数日前に芒種を迎えた沖縄は、梅雨真っ盛りのはずなのですが、ここ数日いい天気です。しかし、梅雨明けはまだ先になりそうな予報。

職場からほど近い公園をのぞいてみると駐車場近くにツミがちょうど巣作り中でした。松やモクマオウの葉をちぎっては巣に運んでいた。

この巣を合わせて4巣を観察中ですが、見やすいのは今回見つけた営巣です。警戒心も強くないので時間の許す限り観察できそうです。

The female paired with the male above. In the upper right of the photo, a bill and nose are visible from the shadow of the nest. Photographed four days ago. It looks like incubation has already begun.

There was a crow's nest nearby. Every time a person walked along the path below, it was tearing off ironwood leaves. It looked quite agitated.
